茨城県水戸市出身。
ピアノ教師である母の手ほどきを受け、4歳よりピアノを、6歳よりヴァイオリンを始める。
高校1年時に合唱との出会いがあり、音楽観が一変する。
日本大学藝術学部音楽学科ヴァイオリン専攻卒業。
岩井俊二プロデュースのラジオドラマ(SEEDS OF MOVIES)「虹の女神」「東京安息日」にて楽曲を提供。

現在、ジャンルを問わずにアーティストのサポート演奏、コニカミノルタプラネタリウム天空にて弦楽四重奏の生演奏×映像のコラボ公演『LIVE in the DARK -w/Quartet-』に毎週出演など、スタジオ録音、TV収録等、幅広いジャンルで演奏活動を行うとともに、後進の指導にもあたる。ヴィオラ、コーラス、作編曲も積極的に行う。ソロ活動のほか、太田美帆、小松陽子とのトリオadagioや弦楽四重奏Kokon Quartetのメンバーとしても活動。

Rie began to play the piano taught by her mother, a piano teacher, at the age of 4 and began to play the violin at the age of 6. When she was in the first grade of high school, she encountered chorus, which completely changed her perspective on music. Rie graduated from Nihon University College of Art, Department of Music, majoring in violin. She composed music for the radio dramas “Niji no Megami” and “Tokyo Ansokubi” produced by Shunji Iwai.

Currently, she performs in a wide range of genres, including studio recordings, TV recordings, etc. Rie also performs as a supporting artist of various genre, and appears weekly in the “LIVE in the DARK – w/Quartet-”, a collaborative performance of live string quartet and video at the Konica Minolta Planetarium in Tokyo Sky Tree. She also teaches younger students. She is also active as a viola player, chorus player and arranger. In addition to her solo activities, she plays in the trio “adagio” with Miho Ota and Yoko Komatsu, and the string quartet “Kokon Quartet”.
